Wish List

Okay, so I've been here for a week and I have a pretty good idea of things I need/want that I can't get here... Here's my list:

1) An action figure of the Thing from the Fantastic 4, for Sousol (Age 5)
2) A comic book of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, for Floid (Age 12)
3) Diapers, for AJ (14 months)... they have to buy them individually for 25 cents apiece!
4) A Shania Twain CD for the girls... they love dancing to christian/country music, so anything along those lines
5) A bottle of black tattoo ink, for me... I found someone who will do a traditional tattoo, but he doesn't have any ink and I'm not keen on the homemade battery-acid variety.
6) A six-pack of Stella Artois, again for me... you might want to wrap those very carefully :)
7) Tapes/DVDs of recent Daily Shows/Colbert Reports... I don't have a VCR, though I'm sure I can find one, but if anyone has the techy know-how to do a DVD that would be sweet
8) Letters, pictures, news, updates and all-around love from home

If you should happen to get any of the above, you may ship them to:

Brian Boucher, c/o WorldTeach
P.O. Box 2378
Kolonia, Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia
Zip Code 96941

Also, please post a comment indicating what you got to avoid two people getting the same thing... except the Stellas - keep those coming. Seriously, I don't expect any of you to buy anything, but some people have asked so here's a list. I know nothing above is a necessity, but I can get most of the necessities here anyway. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for whatever I should get.

The married couple arrived today, and it turns out they are taking the last of the three bedrooms in our house. Our host mother, Tirecher, has sent some of the family back to Kitti to make space, since the rest will only be able to sleep on the floor in the living room. I guess it will be a packed house until we move out next Wednesday.

Okay dokey. You can count on me for items 1, 2, 4, 7 (maybe) and 8 (as always). Checking on 3. I am sure you have lots of friends to send 5 and 6. Also, please send me the following items:
1. An Angelina Jolie “action” figure (just to look at of course)
2. Diapers for me in a couple more years (ha)
3. A younger body (sans pains)
4. A winning lotto ticket (so I can visit)
5. My son home safe after the adventure.
We are building a care package on our end. Thanks for address and the daily updates!!
Love ya, Dad

yeahh, so i'm totally devoting this day off to putting a package together for you. time to get the coffee brewing. steve just tried to call me in to work via text-message, and copped a little bit of an attitude (also in a text message, very professional) when i responded ten minutes later to say that i needed a shower, and to run some errands and could i be in in an hour? he said to forget it, my other co-worker responded first.

c'est la vie.

i've started drawing again, thanks to some inspiration from a 500-page book of tori amos's songs put in to comic form that i broke down and purchased the other day. it's so freakin' beautiful, i want to take it everywhere with me.

perhaps i could just draw you some turtle comics.

i started writing this comment two and a half hours ago. my parents are out of town in daytona again (surprise, surprise!), so i have the place to myself for a week. i went down to make some coffee and pick up the paper out of the driveway and ended up locking myself out, wearing just my bathrobe. there's a house full of kids next door, and the nanny (?) answered and was a little skeptical of who the hell i was, but eventually let me use the house phone after i wrote a lengthy letter to the parents telling them i needed to make a long distance call to my parents in daytona, i was locked out, and if they needed a couple bucks to cover long distance expenses, then they know where to find me. i passed the time waiting for my dad watching spongebob with the kids.

violet and mike want to go cause some chaos here in a bit, but i've got a pot of coffee to consume, some errands to run, and some things to put together for you, so i'll be around here for a while.

i watched the daily show last night. mister stewart says he misses you. really, he said that. you think i'm kidding.

Hi Brian:
I just read your blog and it looks like your dad is going to take care of the list. I'll send more diapers as those are always needed. How about some books or other toys? You understand about the ink, I'm sure. Bud Light and Pabst Blue Ribbon will taste good if that's all you can get.
I can't believe you don't have any Shawnia Twain mixed in with your vast library of music!
Let us know when you get the packages so we can guage the length of time it takes for delivery.
I want a blue starfish (one that has been shot up with formaldehide (sp)).
Love you lots,
Mom
PS: Aunt Dotti sent a Whoopie Cushion for the kids!

Hey! I got your message on facebook and I thought I'd check it out. I haven't seen you in a while -- but congratulations on graduating! I might be able to send you #1, and there's a comic book place near my apartment, so we'll see! I'll try!

Have fun, be safe :)

Dude, It looks like a friend is covering the comic book. Let me know... Nancy found some other things that the kiddos will get a kick out of, too. You will be even more the Pied Piper. Hulu.com lists the current and past episodes on the Colbert Report. You should be able to see all of them there or at http://www.comedycentral.com/colbertreport/full-episodes/index.jhtml?episodeId=177159 (but you may know that). When you have full internet access it will be pretty easy. I am still trying to figure out how to download them...
